“Filipino workers are everywhere. Imagine a world without them.”

Filipino workers carves a good reputation worldwide for being hard-working, dedicated, loyal, and trustworthy employees. They are known for their passion and exemplary attitude toward job responsibilities.

Moreover, Filipino workers are also collectively known for the following positive characteristics:

  • Literate
  • Fluent in English language
  • Eager to learn
  • Easy to train
  • Friendly
  • Highly skilled
  • Competitive
  • Productive

These characteristics have indeed influenced and convinced both local and foreign employers in considering them for various employment opportunities globally.

Meanwhile, latest count from the Philippines’ major statistical agency, the National Statistics Office reports an estimated 92.34 million Filipinos worldwide (NSO, 2010). This figure, however, has been assessed to have increased for the past years. In fact, the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency projected the Philippines’ total population to have reached 103,775,002 in July 2012. During this year (2012), the number of employed Filipino individuals was estimated at 37.7 million, according to the October 2012 Labor Force Survey results. Of this figure, more than 2.2 million were Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), the official term given to refer to Filipinos who are legally working abroad.
